Most of Instagram is already private to browse: searching, visiting profiles, reading bios, and watching reels or posts never notify anyone. What's already invisible
These actions notify no one, ever:

What exposes you

- Following — sends a notification.

Beating the story exception
Since stories are the main tripwire, that's where an anonymous viewer earns its keep.
