For your own account, use Instagram's official data download to get everything. For someone else's public account you want to preserve — a memorial, a business closing, a public-interest record — save what you can while it's still up: download the posts, reels, stories, and highlights through a viewer before the account disappears.

Your own account

A public account you don't own
You can't use the data-download tool for someone else, but if the account is public you can save its content directly:
